Internship In Review – Jan
My name is Jan Aldrich Larsen Dela Cruz and these past ten weeks, I have had the opportunity to work at Northfield Enterprise Center (NEC) as an intern. As an Economics student at Carleton College, it was an excellent opportunity for me to apply some of the logical thinking and research experience that I have acquired into real life applications.
I worked on several projects assisting NEC’s clients ranging from market research to various data collection. Throughout this process, I have learned a great deal on how to run a business in smaller towns like Northfield as well as how to evaluate crucial factors that goes into becoming an entrepreneur. In addition, I had the opportunity of connecting with some of NEC’s coworkers who are all very motivated and hardworking. With their diverse experiences and skills, I was able to draw a lot from the conversations I have had with them. Knowing that I am making a difference in Northfield’s community by helping out NEC’s clients is definitely very rewarding and further emphasizes that “working alone sucks, so let’s work together.”
I want to thank Megan, Susan, and Michaela for welcoming me into NEC’s working space, and giving me proper guidance on how to approach my projects. I am sure to bring what I have learned here to my future endeavors.
