Lunch & Learn – Lean Manufacturing Principles!
We’re excited to have our next Lunch and Learn speaker, Diane Burry, come in and talk about “lean” manufacturing principles and their application to all business processes!
“Lean” principles originate from the Japanese Manufacturing industry, where manufacturers have learned to create more value for customers using the resources at hand, rather than throwing money at a problem. The customer-oriented “lean” mindset can be adapted and administered to a variety of operations within an organization. If you’re interested in improving your business’s practices while increasing your product/service value, Diane will present an overview of lean manufacturing principles, how lean principles can be applied to your business and all businesses, and the tools used in the implementation of lean.
Diane provides Japanese/English translations and interpretations to a variety of manufacturing industries through her own company, DUX International, Inc. In the past, she’s guest taught Advanced Japanese at St. Olaf College and has worked with Nissan as a translator/interpreter. Diane’s extensive experience with manufacturing industries has given her great insight into “lean” manufacturing principles!
