SPUR Member Spotlight: Adam Ness
Written by Katelyn Regenscheid, St. Olaf intern
SPUR is excited to welcome a new coworker to the office: everybody, meet Adam! Adam works in software development for a company called justfab, an online shopping center for fabulous shoes.
What exactly do you do for justfab?
“I work full time in software development. I do internal website programming for them, which includes handling the inventory and internal work of the website such as helping them change the content or do special promotions. In laymen’s terms, I help to make the website work.”
How did you start at justfab, and what do you like about it?
“An old friend that I used to work with actually recommended me for the job, and I got a call with an offer! I like working there because I’m surrounded by really smart people. There are a lot of good folk at justfab who know their way around things.”
Why did you choose SPUR?
“I used to work remotely from home, but it can be difficult to concentrate at home. Basically, it’s nicer to work with a group of people, which is what SPUR offers me.”
How did you end up in Northfield?
“Actually, I grew up here in Northfield. I went to Northfield high school, and I have a lot of family in the area. Coming back gave me a chance to be closer to them.”
Tell us a fun fact about yourself!
“I’m very interested in amateur robotics. Currently, I am working on building a self-guided robotic helicopter. Right now, I am figuring out how to make it recognize and avoid obstacles. Once it’s finished, you can simply enter coordinates for a destination and send it on its way.”
We are glad to have Adam coworking in the office with us! If becoming a member of SPUR coworking center sounds interesting to you, stop on in and give SPUR a whirl (the first day is completely free and non-obligatory). Call us with any questions at 507-649-1810.
