When asked what she was hoping to utilize SPUR for, Tami said:
“SPUR gives me a chance to get out of my house! I love the flexibility that owning my own business provides but it is hard to be productive at home while staring at the unwashed loads of laundry that are left over from the weekend – it is also hard to ‘put work away’ at the end of each day if ‘work’ happens to be the same place you eat dinner. I am a very social person as well, and working alone, all day, all week is hard for me. I love the fact that I am surrounded by like-minded individuals. Having a resource like Megan and the NEC available to me at the office is amazing. Some other things I like about SPUR are:
- Free coffee
- The fact that I can tell people ‘I’m at my office’
- My ‘coworkers’ and the community that SPUR has built up including the interns and community managers.
- FREE coffee
- The space and all the natural light that exists here in beautiful downtown Northfield
- The fact that we have a ‘corral’
- Did I mention the free coffee?
I’m excited to see what happens with SPUR – I think a lot of great businesses are going to grow from having this space to utilize. I love the networking opportunities that have come from working in this space and I am looking forward to meeting more business owners that I can collaborate with.
Thanks to Megan and the NEC for conceptualizing this and bringing it to our area!”
